The home
A family bungalow organised around a swimming pool, with architecture and interiors considered together by NDC.
The pool is the centre of the plan. Living spaces open towards the water, connecting daily routines with the deck and the outdoors. The entry sequence moves between freestanding concrete walls and granite slabs above a reflecting pool.
Board-formed concrete brings a timber-grain texture to the walls. Stone, timber and large glazed openings give each space a clear relationship to the next, while retaining a quiet material palette.
Upstairs rooms project over the deck, providing shade below and framing views back towards the pool. These connections between rooms, water and sheltered outdoor areas make the garden part of the everyday experience of the house.
